We're headed to a fancy black tie optional event on Saturday. We don't go to these kinds of things and I'm not a big dress fan so I'm a little at a loss for what to wear. I've chosen a black dress with small white polka-dots with a low-ish neckline that needs something to jazz it up. I decided to make something at Beadsburg yesterday. Beadsburg is a great place with tons of different types of beads. You buy just the ones you need and the staff helps you with clasps and such. When you leave, you've got a completed piece of jewelry (or pieces in my case - I was fixing several necklaces that had broken too).
I had hoped for some large red beads or even small red beads that I could make multiple strands from because it seemed like the dress needed a dash of red. Unfortunately, they didn't have what I was looking for (and I'm running out of time) so I went with black and white. I went ahead and made the matching bracelet and earrings because I knew I'd get home and realize I didn't have anything to match. I think it'll work. Hopefully it'll be jazzy enough for my dress and black tie optional!
